Sydnie Ozanus loves to travel whenever she can. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and moved to Little Elm, Texas while in the fifth grade. Her mother raised her and the traveled the area as much as they could. Ozanus completed her freshman year in the Pre-Medical program at Texas Tech University in 2016 after graduating a year early from Prosper High School. Ozanus has learned these three excellent travel tips to help others venturing out into the unknown:

- Be patient. Things don’t go as planned when you’re traveling. Sometimes you miss the bus, can’t find an ATM, or your plans get trampled. Just take a deep breath and remind yourself that it could always be worse. If the local shop doesn’t have what you need, go and explore the next village. Be ready to make changes to your plans and roll with the punches.
- Get up early. Sydnie Ozanus doesn’t particularly enjoy waking up at sunrise, but when traveling to a place you may not be able to return to anytime soon, it pays to get up early and avoid the crowds and find that magic hour for excellent photography.
- Stash cash everywhere. No matter where you’re traveling, cash is always accepted. If your card stops working or you lose your wallet, it pays to have a few stashes of cash in your socks, your suitcase, or even sewn into a shirt. Sydnie Ozanus hasn’t had to use a cash stash yet, but it could be a lifesaver especially if you’re abroad.
